Art Workshops

Peter Ursem facilitates a number of workshops in relief printmaking (linocuts, woodcuts and woodengraving) throughout the year. Lino printing is a fabulous technique to learn and explore in a day for those who have a passion for the essential boldness of black and white images. In lino printing there is no middle way, no gray. You have to be clear whether a certain area in your design needs to black or white, left or cut away. If you want to go further, there are workshops to explore successful printing in more colours or to work as a group at producing a storybook with original print illustrations.
No previous experience is required to take part in any of the workshops. The sessions will address design, composition, texture, cutting, printing and all technical aspects, as well as - of course -imagination and the key decisions you need to make to form your image. All materials and use of good tools is included, and there is a library of books specifically about relief prints.
